Don’t listen to Conservatives when it comes to the reality of reverse sexism

Reverse sexism is when males or discriminated against for their gender. They may be seen as less competent and more aggressive. Many people think they grow up with a silver spoon and are basically given everything in life. But the reality is that male sexism is a much bigger deal than people make it.

 

The Conservative media doesn’t put much light on the reality of reverse sexism or male sexism. They constantly try to say how it doesn’t exist, but feminism contradicts that saying. Feminists not only think reverse sexism doesn’t exist but also, view it as an attack on feminism. Classic feminists, always claiming they are discriminated against or attacked.

 

Reverse sexism is a type of sexism that targets men. Males over the past few decades have received more discrimination towards them. What the right doesn’t tell you is the number of sexual assault cases against men has risen. During the 80s and 90s males accounted for less than 10% of sexual assault cases. The latest report states that 38% of all sexual assaults and rapes were reported by men as found in FAU News.

 

In a divorce who do you think gets the kid? If you ask anyone that question, they say the mother. That has been the stereotype that the right has made. It has also turned into a reality that is tough to see. This is the case because statistically men are seen as more violent and aggressive while women are seen as more passive. Another thing to do with discrimination in divorce is the alimony. Men historically pay more in alimony, this started because women were always the “housewives”, so men paid more. But as women have entered the workforce more the trend of men paying more for alimony has stayed the same.

 

For the longest time men were the only ones allowed to enlist or be drafted. For the first two world wars, the vast majority were men and that stands the same for the wars after. A statistic found claims that in the Vietnam War 58,220 lives were lost and 8 of which were female while 58,212 were male. This was found in a record done by the National Archives.  This speaks hugely about the male sexism in war and how a lot more men not only enlist and get drafted but also how an abundance more gets killed in war than females. Although women have never been drafted and only recently were allowed to enlist. The main reason women didn’t get drafted is that they are seen as weaker than men. It is honestly a shame that the media has not brought more light to this problem going on in our country.

On the topic of war, you mostly hear about the genocides against females. But something that isn’t heard as much is the gendercides against males. Gendercide is defined as a reduction of a certain gender in a population. As found in The Atlantic during the Balkans War, most of the largest conflicts and disgusting acts were committed against men. Many times, in wars the same has been seen and it’s a shame that it is not shown in the media.

 

As said earlier men are always seen as more aggressive and violent. This is brought up all throughout a male’s life, so they know they are seen as a violent person. The world has made physical violence against men seen as normal. This is a disgusting stereotype that is not true. Just because I am a male does not make me inherently more violent than any female. That’s what the right likes to say, that women aren’t violent, and all violence and crimes come from men. The world really needs to end this stereotype of men and aggression. It has gone on for too long and is just disgusting. While men do commit crimes, it is not men 100% of the time. After that, they go to prison and receive extremely harsher punishments while in prison. Not only worse treatment from cops working in the prison but also the treatment among cellmates. Rape cases are a huge problem in prison for men. The large rise of sexual assault and rape cases reported from men has mainly come from prison. This stands as a huge statistic for male sexism although the assaults are also caused by men. Some cases reported come from those in the military, but many are not reported, as found in FAU News. Honestly, these findings of male sexual assault and rape cases are disturbing and hard to read.

 

The term feminism and feminists almost do the opposite of what they stand for. What the right and conservative media tell you about feminism is that it stands for women’s rights while bad-mouthing and putting down men. They say they are all about equal rights for both genders while they are trying to just get ahead of males. The irony with feminists is baffling. Feminists themselves oppress the male gender, so clearly, they have not learned from the past. This information found described in an article done by The Atlantic.

 

The reverse sexism problem in our country is a much bigger problem than conservatives want you to think.
